How To Instantly Overcome Writer's Block
Have you ever heard of or experienced the dreaded writer’s
block? This is when you can’t seem to come up with ideas and/or words to write articles, books, advertisements,
pamphlets, poetry or any otherwise. When a person makes a living from writing, this petrifying disease can be
stifling, stifling as in sending you into the proverbial poorhouse.
How does this sickness normally infect and inflict writers?
The scenario goes something like this. You have it in your mind to craft a hot attention grabbing article. One that
will attract a mass number of readers and receive wide distribution, but alas, you are going nowhere fast. No
thoughts, words or ideas. As the colloquial expression goes, the well is dry. Panic sets in like a flood; pros and
amateurs alike start announcing to their peers, family and friends their frustrations concerning their harrowing
quandary.
Take note; your days of writers block are forever over! I’m
about to deliver solutions to help you overcome this debilitating dilemma and consistently deliver truckloads of
articles guaranteed to inform and awe your readers, increase your web traffic and expand your exposure. Follow
these instructions:
1). Make Chat Rooms Your Allies
In chat rooms, questions, ideas, opinions, information and data will come forth to fill your mind with brand new
ideas and superb inspirations. This info is hot off the press because you are receiving it directly from the
thoughts and opinions of your readers. Do not overlook this prime source of creativity.
2). Monitor Hot Topics
You will find great revelation from monitoring topics broadcasted on TV, radio, talks shows and the Internet. For
instance, if you have a music site targeting young adults, when Britney Spears decided to split with her husband,
you should have been all over that. If you are into agriculture, when the E-coli issue rocked America, again, you
should have nailed some profound newsworthy articles on the issue.
3). Join Discussion Forums
There are a legion of discussion groups such as, MSN Groups, Yahoo Groups, Google Groups and Microsoft Discussion
Groups that consistently engage in lively debates. These informative talks are sure to get your creative juices
flowing. By joining one or more of these discussion groups, you will stay razor sharp and keep your finger on the
pulse of your topics.
4). Perform Customer Surveys
Place a survey script or online poll on your website and blog, ask questions and take polls then formulate titles
and articles based on the responses. A good example of using this resource would be the CNN website; I visit their
site on a daily basis, and they almost always have a quick vote or some type of a poll going. The bigwig companies
realize this is a prime source for new material for their editors.
5). Monitor Your Guestbook
I cannot tell you how many stunning titles and profound articles I have come up with by reading one or more of my
Guestbooks. The inspiration you’ll receive from this source is awesome. These are your readers and they have taken
the time to express their feelings and innermost thoughts. Take heed, listen to them and then start churning out
articles.
6). Hot Selling Products and Advertisements
Always keep your eyes, ears, pen and your voice recorder on standby. You never know when you will hear your next
title or article idea. Advertisements and hot selling products have been and will always be an outstanding source
of writing material.
7). Follow The Fads and
Trends
Don’t overlook this creative source of inspiration. I am constantly following fads and trends to get new angles on
old subjects and to address new areas. The thing about fads and trends is that you have to be ready to write and
publish at a moment’s notice, while the trend or fad is newsworthy. Under this heading I would also include as fads
and trends: holidays, in demand topics, seasonal events, politics, sports events and societal issues such as,
weight loss, addictions, breast implants and the like.
8). Customer Questions
Instead of just e-mailing straightforward answers to questions you receive from clients, customers or readers,
craft articles to answer their questions. If they asked it, it’s almost a cinch that others have asked the same or
similar questions.
9). Ezines and
Enewsletters Don’t make the mistake of
overlooking these phenomenal sources of inspiration; which are literal goldmines of article ideas. They are
like having writing coaches brainstorming for you and then delivering to your inbox some of the hottest
concepts one could ever imagine.
10). Blogs Blogs are quickly becoming one of the hottest sources of information in the
world. The flow of illumination and insight from blogs is astounding. Consequently, it is imperative that you have
a number of blogs tucked away in your favorites. Bloggers are free thinkers unencumbered by the constraints of
corporate and government bureaucracy. They are unconventional intellectuals who have the capacity to elevate your
writing to heights unknown.
I currently have over 1800 article ideas and counting, all obtained from the various sources
I’ve shared with you. It’s about time you tap these rich resources.
To your success,
